New Bowls Club at Sharpness Village Hall!

Yes folks, the southernmost team in Gloucestershire is officially up and running! The club will be based at Sharpness Village Hall.

The initiative is being led by Saul Featherstone, Jo Featherstone, and Julian Kellett, who currently travel around and hour each way to their clubs at Defford and Yorkley. The desire for something closer to home sparked the idea of starting up locally.

A quick enquiry to the Village Hall revealed that the committee had recently revisited the storage areas under the stage—where they discovered short mats and equipment dating back to the early 2000s. So this isn’t a brand-new club at all… it’s the revival of an old one!

As the club is still in its early stages, we’ve decided not to enter the Winter League for the 2025–26 season. Instead, we plan to host a friendly competition in December 2025, and we’d love you to come and try out the venue.

In the meantime, if you’d like to join us for a casual roll-up, just pop along:

We can’t wait to welcome you!
