Hi folks
The regular season came to a close last evening with the 4 teams involved all having something to play for, especially Westbury Wellingtons, who started the evening in 11th place, just outside the qualifying position. They went on to win all 3 of their matches and have leapt up to finish in 7th spot. Star of the night, yet again, was their skip, Geoff Orr.
The Westbury Hurricanes needed to win their last game against the Wellingtons to qualify in the top 3 and were 4 all going into the last end and holding shot before Geoff calmly (well he looked calm) trailed the jack into the ditch with his last ball. It’s a cruel game sometimes.
Forest of Dean were without their regular skip as both Barbara and David Bubb have contracted covid. I am sure you would all wish to join me in wishing them both a speedy recovery.
