GSMBA: Agenda for AGM, 24 April 2024

All,

Please find attached the final agenda for our AGM at Wotton Hall Social Club at 7.00pm on 24 April 2024. Also attached are the audited accounts for the 2023-24 financial year and reports from officers (where available).

You will see from the agenda that we need people to come forward to fill the essential officer posts of League Secretary, Competitions Secretary and Safeguarding Officer. If we cannot find volunteers for these posts, then there will be no leagues nor County competitions next year and without a Safeguarding Officer we will not even be allowed to field a team in the Inter-County Competition (ICC). So we would have an association in name, but it would be doing very little! Please circulate this among your club members and ask them if they could step up to fill the breach.

I would remind you that each affiliated club may send 2 delegates mandated to vote, though observers may also attend. All clubs and individuals who have won competitions are also invited to attend to collect their trophies.

I regret to inform you that despite repeated reminders, five trophies have not yet been returned to me for engraving. These are (last year’s holder/club in brackets):

  • Winter League Division 1 Winner (Gloster Knights)
  • County Singles Runner-up (Derek Wilson, Kingsway)
  • County Triples Winners ( John Smallcombe, Steve Holdsworth & Ollie Hipkiss, Gloster Knights)
  • County Triples Runners-up (Gill Johnson, Dave Moss & Stewart Minchew, Tewkesbury)
  • County Fours Winners (Scott Preece, Saul Featherstone, Steve Holdsworth & Ryan Knight, Gloster Knights)

Though too late now to get these suitably engraved, if you know where they are, please try to get them to the meeting so they can at least be presented on the night. The trophy winners will of course be announced and recognised at the presentation but it is very disappointing for them not to take home their awards Would club representatives please circulate their members with this plea.

Can I also remind any officers who have not yet submitted reports for the AGM to do so as quickly as possible.

Andy Todd

Secretary, GSMBA
