Gloucestershire on tour again, this time to Oxford in support of Asthma and Lung Disease charities. Sharpness and Ripple/Defford both fielded two teams for a morning of three round-robin games.
It quickly became clear that it is getting tough out there — the standard of bowls throughout the competition was exceptionally high. Only the Sparrow/Carter pairing (featured) progressed through to the main event and then on to the last eight. In the semi-final they faced a strong Shropshire pairing, eventually losing 16–3. Despite the result, they qualified for a prize fund they generously donated back to the charity.
A good day all round, with the final results expected to appear on the OSMBA website and Facebook.
