Here we are again for the County Pairs, and this time we helped the tournament organiser by providing 16 teams – the perfect number! Well once we had rung Barbara and David, while Chris teamed up with Scott. This is a great reminder that if you want to play pairs, or even triples, in the county competitions, put your name forward and we’ll find you a team! You don’t need to have a partner lined up before entering.
There was also an opportunity to showcase short-mat bowls to our long-mat counterparts, as Gloucester IBC took on Cotswold (Stroud) IBC in a double-rink competition, with two rinks playing at home and two away.
On to the semi-finals!
Ian and Phil played an excellent tactical game to overcome Monica and Mike, last week’s winners, and book their place in the final.
Meanwhile, our scratch pairing of Scott and Chris took on Andrew and Stuart in the other semi-final.
And the winners are…
The final went very smoothly for Scott and Chris, proving that you have to be in it to win it!
