The game is played like other forms of the sport\, with full-sized bowls being used to bowl up and down the carpet. In just a few short years\, the sport has grown in popularity to over 100\,000 players\, and this popularity shows no signs of slowing down; many other parts of the world are taking up the sport and having fun! \nMen and women compete equally together\, so techniques are truly tested. DESCRIPTION:Our annual charity fund raising tournament in aid of Macmillan Cancer support will be held at Leominster leisure centre\, Bridge Street again this year. This year it is on Sunday 24th November 2024. \nEntry this year is £28.00 per team. Email your entry form to the county competition secretary on hsmbacompetitionsec@gmail.com and pay by bank transfer using the following details –  \nSort code 30-98-97\, account no 61819160\, account name HSMBA\, identify payment as Macmillan. Alternatively post your entry form together with cheque payable to HSMBA to Rebecca Cox\, 2 Croft Cottages\, Little Tarrington\, Herefordshire\, HR1 4JD. \nThere is one guaranteed team for each club\, but clubs are invited to indicate how many further teams they would like to enter\, if places are available. However\, please DO NOT include money for any further teams at this stage. Once all entries have been received there will be a draw for any remaining places after all the guaranteed places have been allocated – match details\, playing times etc..\, will be forwarded to each club well in advance of the day.  \nIt is our intention that this tournament (which is open to registered and non-registered players) will provide the opportunity for bowlers\, to meet in a friendly and competitive atmosphere – to give everyone the chance to have a thoroughly enjoyable day\, whilst raising as much money as possible for the worthy cause. \nWith up to 40 teams playing – the match format will be teams of four\, playing two woods each; all teams will play four games to a timed format of 40 minutes per game\, with two points for a win and one point for a draw. \nTea\, coffee and cakes will be available throughout the day\, but everyone should bring their own lunch – there will be a separate room available for refreshments and the rest periods between games. \nThis is always a very popular competition and the support we have had in the past is very much appreciated\, but to ensure your place(s) please return your entry form as quickly as possible.  \nClosing date will be 10th 25th October 2024
