GSMBA are the recognised organising body for the sport of Short Mat Bowls in the county of Gloucestershire, with an affiliation to the English Short Mat Bowls Association (ESMBA).
Our home venue is Kingsway Community Centre
Our Inter-County home games are hosted at Kingsway Community Centre, Thatcham Avenue, Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 2GS. Dates for Inter-County matches and venues are available on the Diary page, while match results and league tables can be accessed on the ESMBA website.
Short Mat Bowls has been an integral part of Gloucestershire’s community since the early 1990s, offering a game that’s adaptable for everyone, regardless of age or skill level. Whether you’re an experienced bowler or just starting out, you can enjoy the game in various formats—singles, pairs, triples, or fours. The objective is simple: outmanoeuvre your opponents by getting your bowls closest to the jack.
The League in Gloucestershire follows a two-season format, with the Winter League running from October through March and the Summer League taking place from April to September.
